Binnopharm Group is the winner of the international pharma industry competition GxP-Profi 2023

Binnopharm Group won the 1st place at the international competition of innovative quality projects GxP-Profi 2023.
Binnopharm Group's competition project «Development and application of a hardware and software system based on artificial intelligence for detecting defects in transparent glass primary packaging before the filling stage during in-process control in the production of transparent and opaque pharmaceuticals» was created and implemented by the company's Quality Management Department and Information Technology Department.

Naala Grivapsh, Corporate Quality Director of Binnopharm Group: «We set ourselves an ambitious goal of using artificial intelligence in production processes at Binnopharm Group's largest production site, Syntez PJSC. In a fairly short period of time, successful results were achieved following the implementation of computer vision based on artificial intelligence on production lines to detect defects in transparent primary packaging (glass vials) in the production of sterile medicines. This project made possible the implementation of the most advanced technologies in real production to prevent defects in manufactured products. This is a great contribution for the whole pharmaceutical industry, as well as an example of innovation in technology, and a demonstration of creativity of the company's employees. The money saved from the project implementation will be used for production modernization and laboratory equipment for Syntez PJSC. And of course, we decided not to stop there and in the near future we plan to expand the use of artificial intelligence to search for defects at other stages of the production process, such as packaging, labeling and for other dosage forms».
The GxP-Profi 2023 competition is organized by the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia with the support of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Its objectives are to identify quality innovation leaders among pharmaceutical manufacturers of the Eurasian Economic Union, to broadcast the best innovative solutions on an industry scale, as well as to raise the prestige of EAEU pharmaceutical manufacturers and to develop competitive advantages in global markets.
The projects are evaluated by an independent expert commission consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, leading international and Russian experts of the pharmaceutical industry.
