In May 2026, Binnopharm Group became the fastest-growing pharmaceutical company in Russia’s over-the-counter (OTC) medicines market. According to analytics agency AlphaRM, the company’s sales increased by 12% year-on-year to RUB 2.5 billion. Over the same period, the overall OTC market grew by 5% to RUB 81.1 billion.

Driven by above-market growth across several therapeutic categories, Binnopharm Group increased its share of the OTC market to 3.1% in May. The key growth drivers were medicines used to treat some of the most common conditions, including digestive disorders, pain and inflammation, venous disorders, and respiratory infections. In all of these categories, Binnopharm Group brands grew faster than their respective market segments.

«We are seeing sustained growth in demand across several therapeutic categories. For Binnopharm Group, this reflects not just the success of individual brands, but the balanced development of our entire OTC portfolio. Patients are increasingly choosing medicines they trust, particularly when it comes to treating the most common conditions. This confirms strong demand for high-quality, affordable medicines manufactured in Russia», said Roman Dulesov, Sales and Marketing director at Binnopharm Group.

The strongest growth was recorded for a laxative, with sales doubling year-on-year to RUB 27.2 million, while the corresponding market segment grew by just 12% over the same period. An external non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) ranked second in terms of growth, with sales rising by 37.2% to RUB 338.5 million, significantly outperforming its market category, which grew by just 6%.

An antispasmodic used to treat functional gastrointestinal disorders ranked third, with sales increasing by 24.5% to RUB 279.4 million, compared with 17% growth in the respective market segment.

Positive momentum was also recorded for a venotonic medicine, whose sales increased by 22.2% and which achieved the largest market-share gain in its category, up 2.9 percentage points to 18%. A mucolytic also performed strongly, with sales rising by 15.7% despite the end of the peak season for respiratory infections
